I am surprised by this signing, I would have expected the team to sell him high, as a rental, nearer the trade deadline.

How so?? He's two points behind Backlund and is a +7 on Chicago.

Money doesn't matter, they obviously love him and a +7 on that team is unreal.

I would have assumed they would trade him also, but he's done so well there.

They received the Canucks 2nd round pick this year to take on his contract.
