Good W for what looked like another troubling game in the 1st 40 minutes. Markstrom on it and all the guys who put up points tonight were who should have.
Man they really need to clean up their D zone play. Not as bad as the PP but it's creeping up there. Markstrom covered up some really ugly stuff tonight.

Zary and Huberdeau were cooking tonight. Sharangovich had a great night as well.
The Hanifin - Tanev pairing was dominant.
The refs tried to help Ottawa with a couple of missed tripping calls, and a goal that shouldn't have counted.
Markstrom finishes with a .909sv% but he looked better than that.
A pretty bad night for Andersson.
Coleman's on pace for a 34 goal season.
Pospisil reminded me a bit of M. Tkachuk this game, he was all over the place, I liked his game despite the stupid penalty.
I was impressed with Kuznetsov, he looks very poised back there. He makes a lot of good little plays when fighting along the boards, or clearing the net. I also liked how he shot the puck a bunch, and didn't defer to his D partner too much.
7 3rd period comebacks this year, which is so much better than last year.
Backlund passes Gio in GP. Kadri gets 600 points.

The league is clearly out to get us, and it's getting tiresome.
Look, Connor Zary is never going to be a real NHLer. He was clearly a bust from the moment he suited up in the AHL and did nothing. That's a no-brainer.
It was incredibly stupid to trade the legend that is Tyler Toffoli for a healthy scratch in Sharangovich. That's another no-brainer.
Hanifin is a boring, middling defenceman who doesn't do anything particularly well and should have been traded by now. No-brainer.
And Coleman is just an overpaid plug who only cares about getting the big fat paycheque the Flames were dumb enough to give him as a free agent. Also a no-brainer.
If you remove all those exceptions, as for obvious reasons you should, the Flames were shut out tonight. And Markstrom gave up three goals, which is clearly too many for a no-talent team such as this.
Yet the NHL, dirty cheaters that they are, still gave us two points to wreck the value of our draft picks.
I insist on a do-over. Or a brainer, whichever.

At this point you gotta say Coaching. Martin isn't even the guy, just interim. Plus goaltending. They're missing a Methot guy to pair with Chabot or Chychrun.
