Roman Cechmanek passed away
Haven’t seen anything in this but the guy was a star for a couple seasons.

Strange NHL career. Made a big splash, then unceremoniously went back to the Czech Republic. A little bit like Roman Turek in that regard.

RIP in peace. Definitely had a different kind of style and I was kind of a fan while he lasted. He was always a wall for me in NHL 03.

Wow, he used to intentionally use his head to deflect pucks out of play. Can't help but wonder if those seemingly meanless hits to the head contributed to his early passing. 52 is not that old.

That would certainly take someone this young. Unfortunate no matter what the cause. Best wishes to his family in what would be a difficult time.

Posts I've seen was he feeling sick on Saturday, and he was found deceased by his son Roman on Sunday. sounds more like a heart attack, stroke or an aneurysm to me.

Oh man, WTF. Way too young. He was one of my favorite goalies in the early '00s. RIP.
