Not super surprised. He's been good at times, but overall has looked a little lost on the ice. I'm guessing Zary stole his spot for the meantime, and we'll see how long Zary can keep pace.

So, with no D recalled I assume if Oesterle clears he just sticks around.

Also I don't expect Pospisil to play and Coronato to be back next week after a weekend of AHL play.

Edit - Looks like he will play! Good for him!

good for Pospisil, but I'm surprised he gets the call ahead of Klapka (and Schwindt, for that matter).

Maybe Conroy is going for the 'most NHL debuts in a season' record. I hope Popsicle gets a couple of games.

^^ Schwindt was an odd one in camp. He technically made the team but didn't look very good doing it.

I'm liking the injection of homegrown youth into the lineup though - nice to see Coronato, Zary, Solovyov and Pospisil all getting cups of coffee in the bigs this year. It's what we've been clamouring for to happen for some time.

It’s the right call. They gave him a really good opportunity and he showed he’s just not quite ready yet. No need to rush him, let him go and be a top line guy in the AHL and gain some confidence.

He needs to play first and foremost. Hopefully he can get on a good run in the AHL.

Probably for the best.

NCAA to NHL is a huge jump in talent and speed.

Still a great prospect, and there's no shame in needing some pro seasoning to gain the confidence needed to succeed at ghe next level.

Yup, may have even adjusted a bit too much to how the current crop of Flames play, which is slow and boring. Needs to go down and find a little more swagger and pace and come back with the confidence to drive the play like Zary.

Understandable. It's a big transition from college to the NHL. He'll be back up eventually

I was actually waiting for Coronato to be sent down. He has a ton of potential, but he needs to get back to having fun on the ice and work on his defensive game in the AHL. I think it will be good for him to be away from this disfunctional team for a spell.

Hopefully we see Coronato back in 10-20 games, and he manages to create a little more time and space for himself.

I'm not sure what Pospisil brings, and who he displaces in the lineup.

As a fan this stinks, but for the player it's the right call at the moment.

This team has sucked the life out of him. Going down and finding some confidence while playing in all situations will only be beneficial for Matt.

Additionally, I always thought Pospisil would be a full time NHLer by now if not for injuries. The key for him will be discipline and not trying to do to much. He's far more talented than most believe. Just play your game.

Nice reward for Pospisil too. Guy has been a warrior, worked hard in the organization for years. Maybe thats why they give him a shot ahead of some of the other guys like Klapka. We'll never know what he might be in the NHL if he doesn't get an opportunity.

I was recently looking at the 2018 Flames draft class and wondering if anyone would play any NHL games.

As much as I would love to have Coronato with the Flames all season, it's probably not the worst idea to get him away from this tire fire of a start to the season for the Flames as a guy who's new to pro hockey. Go over to the Wranglers who are 5-1 so far, and put up big minutes on the top line and put some points up for however long they think is necessary.

Next season I'm fully expecting Pelletier, Coronato, and Zary to be in the Flames lineup fulltime and Honzek in the AHL. This season they should prioritize development time, I like the move.

Also, if Pospisil get's into the lineup there will be shenanigan's, guaranteed. Which is fun.

I like the moves we’ve made.

Coronato needs more ice time and more time to refine his game. He will be back in no time.

A breath of fresh air we have a GM that notices this. Imagine if he was GM when Bennett was around.

I was thinking the same thing, maybe he'll be back after a little work and when things are a little less toxic.
