This will be the first time that I am getting to see the Kraken, their games with the 'Hawks either were blacked out, or fell on nights I was working, last year. I only recognize a few Kraken players (frankly, given the 'Hawk roster turnover, that can also be said for the guys the 'Hawks are tossing out there!), like Jaden Schwartz, Eberle, and Oleksiak, Larsson, and their back up goalie, who is starting today, Martin Jones.

Two bad turnovers, and the slow starting 'Hawks are down 2-0. Both times Jack Johnson and Seth Jones were the D pair, with Johnson being, totally, out of position.

The 'Hawks have already doubled their SHG output from last year. Khaira forces a zone exit turnover, and the 'Hawks get their 4th SHG of the new season. 2-1 Kraken in the late 1st.

The Kraken had a very bad 13 seconds and coughed up a 4-3 lead to lose 5-4. The Kraken were dominating possession up to then.

The BJs have their back up goalie Tarasov in net and they lead 2-0 in the second period.

All games that are in progress have a 3-1 score in the third period. The Red Wings, Panthers, and BJs are winning.

So is Detroit good this year or have they just not played anyone yet? Montreal, Jersey,
LA, Chicago and Anaheim is hardly some murderers row of teams. I think Buffalo is better than them but maybe Detroit sneaks in there. I think those two along with Ottawa are the only teams who can step up but I don’t know who falls. Washington seems obvious but I don’t see the next candidate yet.

Reimer is working on a shutout as the Sharks lead 2-0 in the third period. The Flyers did score earlier, but, it was offside.

The Pacific division went 2-7 over the weekend. Flames and Sharks with the only wins.

Well even before vancouvers awful start to the season everyone knew that Anaheim, San Jose and Seattle weren’t competing this year.
So yeah by default the bottom end of this division is the worst.

Well said Foss about the Kraken-Bhawks game.

Kubalik with 3 points and Captain Larkin with 2 points in the Red Wings 5-1 win over the sitting Ducks. Special teams were the keys to the Red Wings winning with the PP going 3/5 and going perfect on the PK at 4/4. The only good thing for Anaheim was Gibson in net.

The BJs simply crushed the Rangers in MSG. That was an impressive and complete team performance by the BJs.

The Panthers squeak out a 3-2 win in reg time over the Islanders. Special teams were good for the Isles going 2/6 on the PP and 4/4 on the PK, but, the score is what matters. Anders Lee scored both goals on the PP in the loss.

The Sharks seem to have the Flyers number as they have beaten them 16/20 games. They beat them again 3-0. Reimer made 30 saves for the SHUTOUT. It was the return of Oscar Lindblom as he signed with the Sharks this summer from Philly.

Wade Allison got a holding penalty at 3:20 of the second period. It's the only time in NHL history this has ever happened to anyone from Carman, Manitoba who was born in 1997.
