Matt frickin' Scoronato
I think we need one more thread on an undersized winger named Matt.
This guy is nuts. Reminds me so much of Cammalleri that I badly want him to change to #13. Already becoming one of my favourite Flames and I can't decide what line I want him to play on.
Huberdeau-Lindholm-Coronato
Sharangovich-Backlund-Coronato
Mangiapane-Kadri-Coronato
Or some other permutation? Who's to say. But I have a really good feeling about this guy. He rocks.
Discuss.

I'd love to see him as Huby's trigger man!
Though, I think having him with Backlund would be a fantastic learning opportunity.

I'm cautiously optimistic. But I'm not taking any Calder bets like Derek suggested on the broadcast last night.
I'm still not sure how he'll stack up against more everyday NHL competition. I'd feel better if he killed it at the Young Stars but he really didn't. He's making the team though. I'd keep with Backs to start and give him some PP time with Huberdeau as the distributor.
The idea of hitting the wall and goalies figuring out his shot though, I dunno. Wheels could fall off quickly.

I want to see Huby- Rozie - Coronato.
IMO Huby hasn't fit well with the other centres and I think playstyle wise he fits very well with Coronato. Ruzicka is an interesting wildcard in between.
Coronato looks like he'll fit in well anywhere. The proposed backlund combo would be my second choice for opening night.

That shot is something. Been a while since we have had a player that can beat a goalie clean from 25 - 30 feet out.

This organization badly needs a top prospect to blossom. I'm sure there will be some ups and downs but this kid does seem to have goal scoring intangibles that you can't teach.

Actually, along with Pelletier (RIP shoulder), Coronato is a treat to listen to. You can tell he's just having fun and is happy to be here. I really like the energy of our younger players on and off the ice, and I thought the way Coronato spoke about Backlund was great. You can tell how much Backlund means to the young guys and how great he is to play with.

Really easy kid to like, and root for, when you hear him talk and see his energy.

He's making the squad 100%, and he should be playing with either Huby or Backs.

Scoring Winger

Huby needs to play with someone who can cause turnovers with their forecheck and someone who can shoot the puck, Coronato fits both criteria. Do not think he should start there in the season opener, playing with Backlund would be more beneficial for him to start. I would say move him to PP1 first and then to the top line (I am not liking what I have seen from Mang at all)

Why not both?
Huberdeau-Backlund-Coronato might be pretty good tbh.

He earned the frickin in last nights game alone. Glad I chose that one to go to.
He was in the right spot at the right time the entirety of his ice time. He didn't take a second off and executed at a high high level.
