For cap reasons without LTIRing someone I think they need to cut three more.

I think Schwindt makes opening roster just based off need for 4th line C. Didn't they say they wanted to give Ruzicka a longer look in the top 6 role.
I think the first set of guys they cut to clear waivers:
Pettersen
Pospisil
Hunt
DeSimone
Once those guys clear, they can waive any of:
Schwindt
Klapka
Solovyov

If they go with LTIR, Kylington will be included for sure. And with Pelletier and Rooney now both hurt, they have no choice.
The trick is going to be getting the number high enough - they need another $3-4M contract

Why Andersson? He was pretty terrible last year and wouldn't shoot. Making it a 4 on 4 powerplay when he was manning the point.

Well, I would be very surprised to see the Flames go with five forwards on the power play, and Anderson was their best producing defenseman on the power play by a country mile last year. That's why.
