Now I'm really out of ideas
Ben Jones I suppose. Never really thought of him as a prospect since when he came here I kinda assumed 'career ahler, just Wranglers depth' and then he went on to actually have a solid season. 4 less points than Zary in one less game played, and still only 24

Got to go with Lipinski. Youngest player left that is highest draft pick still on the board. In such a deep draft year.

Todd Button quote:
"A little bit of a later developer. He’s a big right-hand shot. He’s more of a possession type right now, cycle guy. He needs to work on his skating but we think the work ethic. He just wasn’t exposed to high level hockey when he was younger growing up in Arizona so he came up to Canada to get exposed to it. He’s taken steps every step of the way; we’re excited about him, too."

I'm glad we still have the rights to Koumontzis, because I never have to worry about who will finish last in the rankings.

Maybe I am too optimistic, but I think the likes of Lipinski, Jones, Pospisil, etc, at Prospect 20 have at least a chance to make it, is rather good.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Round 20 and some decent options left. I don't know much about Lipinski, but this write up (pre-draft) from the Hockey Writers has me feeling optimistic:

Quote:
NHL Potential
When you look at Lipinski, you see a lot of tools that most NHL players possess. Now, one good season in the WHL doesn’t make you a nightly starter, but it shows that he has the potential to grow and develop his game. This means he will likely need a lot of time in the minor leagues before he will be ready for the big show, but in four or five years he could find his way to the ice in a bottom-six role killing penalties and playing a physical game.
Now, there is a chance that he could be the steal of the draft if a team is able to develop his skating even further. He is a player that could excel if his skating matched the rest of his toolkit, so he very well could start in a small role but eventually develop into a middle-six player who takes on ice time on both the powerplay and the penalty kill.
Risk-Reward
Risk – 3/5, Reward – 3.5/5

Moves like Yegor up next.

Pospisil. A healthy season puts him on the cusp. The team needs some more jam.

Going with the big stay-at-home defenseman Hurtig. He may not amount to much, but he's only 18 and could still develop quite a bit.

Due to age Lipinski slightly over Hurtig and then Littler, not sure Yegorov will ever be a flame and can only hope for a pleasant surprise with the older guys at this point.

It's Ben Jones for me(again). I see him as a 4th line center at the NHL level, which is more than I can say about anyone remaining on the list.

Pospisil, just cause I like his game and I think he plays in the nhl for some time as an energy winger.

We could use his size and toughness this year, if he could only stay healthy....
