Default Another IPOD question

Do any of you know if you can convert a CD so it can be used ón the IPOD? Is there software or something that comes with it?

Thanks all

yup...you just pop in the CD and iTunes can convert it for you. There's probably a pop-up screen when you load in the CD that says 'what do you want to do'...there should be an option saying 'rip CD using iTunes' or some-such.

You'll get into problems if you have a newer CD that's copy-protected. However, with those, there's a way to download them into your computer using WMA format...then you burn the WMA files onto a CD, load the new CD and then rip it as I've mentioned above.

usually when you pop in a cd, and open itunes, at the top right, there's some button that will "Rip" the cd into m4a files that can be transferred to your ipod.

check the My Documents\My Music\iTunes Music\ folder for your ripped music.

AllOfMP3.com is your friend.
If you use BMO Mastercard you can setup virtual credit cards to py for it.
That site is the shiznit.

As per the question, you can use iTunes as posted earlier or download a wma2mp3 converter.

I will be doing the same thing when Telus ships me my free nano.

The CD should allow you to back it up onto your computer as a WMA. Then you just burn that and re-rip from the burn. If you're not being able to downlaod the wma's from the CD, that is odd. The CD should be enhanced and allow you to do.

First off, don't compress into WMA... it sucks. Do it at least 192kbps MP3. All you do is put the CD in and in the top right corner of the CD screen click "Import"

I'm not talking about importing into itunes.
I'm talking about importing protected CDs which can only be ripped as WMA and can't be put on ipods because of it.
But thanks anyway

Don't buy cds that will only allow you to rip in WMA. Windows Media Player was written with a pirated version of whatever coding software they used and they're the ones forcing the RIAA issue on the consumer. It's just another inferior Microsoft format that they are trying to make popular by forcing people into using it.

Never install any software off of a Sony CD or DVD either.

I have a question! What happens when the battery is done? How much is it too replace? Does FS and BB warranty cover the battery?

Mine lasted about 4 months. Emailed Apple, they sent me a box, I packed it up and they sent me a new one at no cost. You can buy the batteries at FS and they are fairly easy to replace from what Ive seen.

Actually, WMA are superior to mp3 in compression vs quality. There are plenty of tools to convert from WMA to mp3 too.
