Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2023 - Round 11
Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!
As per usual ...
1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to rookie camp range
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

I think it’s important to put Sergeev up there as soon as possible. He probably should have been there a few spots ago.

Honestly, after the first 7 or 8 go I start voting on hype I read here and around other limited corners of the internet. I can't really claim an informed opinion, but so many people did absolutely nothing so I could have the right to vote and I can't let them down.
If you want my votes from here on out start blowing that smoke for your favorite project and you'll probably get it.

That 2020 draft class is looking pretty decent:
- 24th - Connor Zary
- 50th - Yan Kuznetsov
- 72nd- Jeremie Poirier
- 80th - Jake Boltmann
- 96th - Daniil Chechelev
- 143rd - Ryan Francis
- 174th - Rory Kerins
- 205th - Ilya Solovyov

Solovyov, for sheer progression from where he was at the time of his draft. It's an upward arc that's rare to see in someone drafted in the 200s; to even be an everyday bottom pairing D would be a home run for this pick.

Oops. Solovyov still on the board. Best available.

Neither great nor bad; nobody graduated so far but only one is no longer a Flames prospect and at least two are looking like very solid prospects, with a few other intriguing possibilities.

Plenty of promising goaltenders, picked high and low, have crashed and burned in the past... but there's always hope, right?

Sandman's opinion on prospects carries some clout here and he/she/it (I think I got all the pronouns) voted Sergeev so I did the same.

Watching UConn, his athleticism stands out. Seems to be a point of emphasis for Sigalet with Wolf, Sergeev and Yegorov
Sergeev also has a fiery competitive side. Not afraid to take a whack or punch at someone a little too close to his crease. I think he had a suspension or two in the USHL

Got a bit of the Billy Smith/Ron Hextall thing going for him. Goalies are so weird.

Thanks very much, but obviously I don't have too much clout as my guy is being beaten by Ronni and Solovyov, lol...
