Gotta think some team with cap space will take a flyer. 6th overall pick only 23 but has had really poor numbers as a pro

Just a tire fire in the 200' game and simply not offensive enough to cover that glaring deficit in his game.

Big red flag.

Detroit has over $9m in cap space so it’s not like they need to make room to bring someone in. Puzzling move. Did something really go south in the relationship between the player and team? Trade me, waive me, get me the hell out of here?

what a disappointing first round that was.

Zadina, Hayton, Kupari, Bokk, Merkley, Denisenko, Kaut, Smith, Alexeyev, Beaudin, Bernard-Docker, Johansson, Foudy, O'Brien, Kravtsov all have yet to establish themselves as regulars.

Wahlstrom, Veleno, Lundkvist, Lundestrom, Farabee, Dellandrea all not what hoped for thus far. Kotkianemi too, you could argue.

Dahlin, Svech, Hughes, Boqvist, Bouchard, Dobson, and Miller varying degrees of success, but the clear best picks.

Surprised he didn't go to Edmonton 50% retained for Future Considerations.

I would take a chance on him, but I doubt he makes it to Calgary. I would think Chicago would claim him first.

Saw a similar souring of the relationship between the team and Vrana.

Too late to buy him out now.

$1,825,000 is a bit rich for a project player.

If he passes waivers, then a trade with the Wings eating half his salary?

Softens the blow of trading a first a two seconds for Hamonic.

Well except the first was used to draft Hobson.

Hayton is definitely a regular, but the point stands. Real bad first round.

The potential and age fit in with what the Flames are trying to do. He can play now with potential he hasn't hit. Flames should put in a claim and see if a change of scenery helps.

This guy is the result of a rushed prospect.

He was offered KHL money when he was drafted wings had no choice.

True, but no telling if the Flames would use their pick for him.

We can't afford him without moving someone.

I might be wrong but I remember him having great possession and defensive metrics, just can’t “fill the net”.
