gotta admit, when he was a rookie I did not aee him carving this career out for himself. He looked like the clear weak link on that Bennett - Jankowski - Hathaway line after they looked pretty damn good with Jagr. I guess Janko was the weak link in retrospect, but she sure flashed promise as a rookie

Exactly.
He’s that buzz saw guy at camp that you think ‘if only he could do that every game’.
Hathaway is the rare player that actually does.
‘Energy’ seems to be his unique skill.

Hathaway is a type of player Philly fans will absolutely love. Great place for him to land and his contract seems pretty strong as well. Good luck to him.

On the face, seems like an overpay for a bottom 6 guy. But
-Flyers are trying to tank
-During the tank, makes sense to bring in character and work ethic guys to inspire the younger players.
-Also helps to ice physical players to keep the fans interested.
So, with that in mind, sure, pay a 4th liner over 2 mil, why not.

Gotta love the story of a hard working guy who has had the ability to carve out a solid NHL career and career earnings as an undrafted cat. Just do what needs to be done, do it well and be a good player an a good person.
Rarely does it turn out like this but I am happy for him and he's had the ability of playing for some good teams, good organizations and more.
