I thought for sure this would be wildfire related, which I could understand...

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

The city said there are cultural sensitivities related to ongoing efforts at truth and reconciliation with Canada’s First Nations.
July 1 this year also marks the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Immigration Act.
This sounds pretty weak to me but what do I know as an old, white guy when it comes cultural sensitivity? As an aside, don't Chinese people love fireworks and set of fireworks on New Year's to scary aware evil spirits or something?
How easy or difficult is it going to be to get access to this mainstage area for the new show this year?
No. The only part that matters is that you acknowledge and resent the ingrained privilege that comes with your culture and heritage
Can we do it with fireworks?

Calgary's Canada Day fireworks cancelled due to cultural sensitives, and instead will be celebrated between August 17-26 at Calgary's Elliston park, where 5 big fireworks shows will be had while celebrating a variety of cultures, including a day specifically by team Canada.

I think almost every culture seems to love shooting fireworks in the air and watching them explode.
I thought for sure this would be wildfire related, which I could understand...
I concur with this...I dont know about the cultural considerations but I remember going camping and people would be popping off fireworks constantly and I remember thinking to myself:
"Are you insane? Its been 30 degrees all day and we're in a grass field in a valley...what is wrong with you?"
