Default No; More Canada Day Fireworks!!

https://calgaryherald.com/news/local...hts-and-sounds

To address various cultural and sensitivity issues, the fireworks that are visible all over the city will be replaced with a light show?

According to the city, the changes will mitigate disruptive traffic, noise and overcrowding issues at viewpoints around the city.
Yeah, because no one wants to see this? So ridiculous.

Cultural concerns?

What about our own culture? Does that count for anything?

The city said there are cultural sensitivities related to ongoing efforts at truth and reconciliation with Canada’s First Nations.
July 1 this year also marks the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Immigration Act.
This sounds pretty weak to me but what do I know as an old, white guy when it comes cultural sensitivity? As an aside, don't Chinese people love fireworks and set of fireworks on New Year's to scary aware evil spirits or something?

How easy or difficult is it going to be to get access to this mainstage area for the new show this year?

No. The only part that matters is that you acknowledge and resent the ingrained privilege that comes with your culture and heritage

Next Press Release:

Calgary's Canada Day fireworks cancelled due to cultural sensitives, and instead will be celebrated between August 17-26 at Calgary's Elliston park, where 5 big fireworks shows will be had while celebrating a variety of cultures, including a day specifically by team Canada.

If you've seen one fireworks show you've seen every fireworks show.

I think almost every culture seems to love shooting fireworks in the air and watching them explode.

I concur with this...I dont know about the cultural considerations but I remember going camping and people would be popping off fireworks constantly and I remember thinking to myself:

"Are you insane? Its been 30 degrees all day and we're in a grass field in a valley...what is wrong with you?"

Are indigenous people actually asking for this type of stuff? Honest question? Like do they honestly care about fireworks?

Can someone explain to me how fireworks are culturally insensitive? Is it because we are celebrating Canada on Canada Day?
