That's Why We Have a List
The 2023 Draft will be an interesting one to look back at for the Hurricanes. Being positioned one or two spots differently could have drastically changed the outcome of the names the Hurricanes would have been selecting. Which pool of players, the ones selected, or the ones penciled in seconds before, will end up being what is graded on, for what was... or what might have been
The Hurricanes entered the draft with only 16 names written on the draft board and were still able to come out with 8 of those players. For that, I'm pretty happy with it, given the fact that much of the time I was scrambling for the next name
Quentin Musty is poised to be the player that Quinton Byfield never was. The Canes GM is going to look like a wizard for pulling off a major steal for the underestimated Musty. Look for Musty to lead the NHL in scoring during his rookie season
The Canes were able to pick up Andrew Cristall because the rest of the CPHL must have needed to check their balls when they had to log into Zoom. Pick 6
Coulson Pitre...
After Ty Smith's hockey career has gone down the toilet, the Canes were under pressure to restock their D core as the defensive prospect growth has stunted. welcome to the Canes Gibson, Burns and Bertucci
The future captain of the Carolina Hurricanes, is it too early to give it to him right now?
Hay was a player the Canes really wanted and weren't sure where to draft him. Most likely drafted him too high but after losing a couple of other players we wanted to make sure that Hay was indeed a Hurricanes at the end of the day
This is about the time that the Hurricane's GM went rouge and started drafting more D men, apparently you can never have enough
