Habs Draft recap
After finding out that my travel plans would interfere with my drafting I decided to trade the majority of my picks and keep # 17. We ended up keeping 4 picks total as the more I read on the draft the more guys I liked in the early 2nd range.
#17 - Nate Danielson : this kid plays a complete game. He was #13 on our list and we have seen him go in mock drafts anywhere from 10-25. I see him as good value for 17. Bedard praised the kid up for being tough to play against, so that’s quite the compliment.
41 Anton Wahlberg- when you get a chance to grab the illegitimate son of a Wahlberg brother you jump! This kid has a big frame and gold skills. He is a late riser and can really go anywhere from late 1st-4th round. We like his size and work ethic and figured he was worth the risk at this spot.
42- Lukas Dragivecic - the ultimate gamble. Easily one of the best offensive tools of all defensive in this draft. However the defensive engagement is poor. The question here is will the strengths offset the weakness. Usually not my type of prospect. But I felt like taking a risk.
94- Scott Ratzlaff - I didn’t scout past potential 2nd round guys. I told Cheese take the best goalie available. I figured with how unpredictable goalies are that it was a good chance to gamble. I don’t know a thing about this kid and in all honesty had to google him.
A huge thanks to Cheese for making my selections for me. Hopefully the stupid Tely 10 doesn’t fall on CPHL draft weekend next year and I can make it.
