Old wingers are probably the least valuable trade asset in the NHL.
But yeah probably helps show how soft the trade market was for Toffoli.

Smith has averaged 52 points ever 82 games over the past three seasons.
Toffoli has averaged 65 points every 82 games the past three seasons.
Smith makes 500K a year more than Toffoli.
So not surprising that the Flames got more, Toffoli is a much better player on a cheaper contract.
