POSITIVES:
The offensive production has quietly been very good. GM Walsh seems to have found 2 lines that contribute on a regular basis and a 3rd line that has chipped in with a bunch of goals. The Jets currently have 6 players with 10 or more goals and another handful just shy of 10 goals.
The underrated blue line core of the Jets has to be positive thus far this season. Without a big named superstar on the backend rarely have the Jets been blown out.
AREAS OF CONCERN:
The biggest concern for the Jets is the health of their players. The Jets have played a significant portion of the season without players such as Bonk, Boucher, DiPietro, and now Roenick. The team does not have the depth to lose top end players for any length of time. Roenick did under go successful surgery on his finger earlier this afternoon and with the holiday break the Jets are hoping JR may only miss 1-2 weeks of playing time.
OUTLOOK:
GM Walsh’s goal for the Jets this season was to make a solid push at a playoff spot, right now the Jets are just 2 points out of the 8th and final playoff spot in the Howe Conference. The road to the playoffs will not be easy as the Jets play 27 of their final 41 games vs. the very difficult Gretzky Conference teams. Hopefully the injury bug stays away and the Jets are able to make the playoffs in their first year in the CPHL.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE JETS!
