Carson Briere, (Flyer's GM son) pushes disabled woman's wheelchair down stairs at bar
https://www.bladeofsteel.com/Philade...-stairs-217723
Flyer's GM Daniel Briere's son, Carson Briere, who plays (played?) hockey at Mercyhurst University, was at a bar with friends and while a woman was in the washroom he pushed her wheelchair down a flight of stairs.
Needless to say, he and the teammates are no longer welcome at that establishment, and various other consequences appear to be incoming. Not a good look for Carson who was already kicked off another university team due to breaking team rules before even playing a game with them.
Not a great look for dad Daniel as well, who was just given the interim GM position in Philly.

What a piece of garbage. If that was my son I would lock him in a room and throw away the key!
Oh snap...

That's a little unfair IMO. Carson Briere is 23 years old and responsible for himself.

Was about to say the guy is 24 in six months.
That's terrible behavior for a 19 year old, but you'd think you'd grow some class and maturity by 24.

Wow. How awful Danny must be just pissed. AFAIK he's a first-class guy. His son apparently needs some of that.

I wouldn't call it a bad look for Daniel. More embarrassing than anything as parents can't be held responsible for what their 20+ year old children do.

Same. Was bracing my stomach for a wrenching video (not that it isn't a dbag move) of a disabled person getting horribly injured. I mean I guess it's good she wasn't in it...
Also had no idea Daniel Briere was the Flyers' GM.

Oh, I agree. Nonetheless, this will inevitably reflect on him. My money is that he releases a statement on this sometime in the next 48 hours or so.

Interim, I believe, after Fletcher was let go a few days ago.

Not after this. They'll remove the interim tag.

I know it's not really relevant but I'm really wondering how that wheelchair got upstairs to begin with.

Those are the actions of a person who has never faced any consequences in their life and who has never been told "no". Fair or not, that is a reflection on the way he was raised, which is absolutely a poor look for Danny Briere.

I read the bathroom was downstairs and some people carried the woman down to use it and left it up there.
Pretty gross behaviour.

I don't know Danny Briere's personal life, but he had that kid at about 21. I think most people that age are still finding themselves as an adult and still learning adult life lessons let alone good parenting skills. Then combine that with a full-time hockey player dad, big money income, and being effectively a middle child (that is a thing!) in a probable life of privilege, perhaps not too surprised he's doing not-adult things at 21 as well.

Garbage human. This is clearly someone that has lived a privileged life and has never had to deal with hardships. If that's a custom wheelchair and it's been damaged, those are both expensive and can be quite time consuming to get. That could mean that this woman is now without her primary mode of community transportation. Even if it's just a couple of dings and scratches, that's such a POS thing to do.

I think it's overblown. He was probably super drunk and did something stupid. Could have done many dumber things like drink and drive, or commit sexual assault.
Buy the person a new wheelchair, apologize, do some sensitivity training and lay off the booze
