NHL On Tap: Flames host Wild, need urgency after Trade Deadline

Trade Deadline, the Flames know that reinforcements are not on the way and it is time to find some consistency. The Flames are 3-4-3 in their past 10 games, which is not ideal with a five-point gap between them and the Winnipeg Jets, who hold the second wild card from Western Conference.

Wild add reinforcements, will meet Flames next

Riding a three-game winning streak and on a 7-0-1 roll, the Minnesota Wild head into Saturday's game against the host Calgary Flames having received another boost on trade deadline day.

The Wild on Friday acquired offensive defenseman John Klingberg from the Anaheim Ducks and forward Oskar Sundqvist from the Detroit Red Wings. A few days before, they also traded for a pair of forwards in Marcus Johansson -- who played his first game for them in Vancouver on Thursday -- and the injured Gustav Nyquist.

Let’s go flames!!! You didn’t sell , so you might as well try and make the playoffs.

The wild went and traded for their own Swedish mafia before today's game. That's kinda funny.

The current plan to make the playoffs is 15 wins, 5 losses to finish the season, as long as they also beat the Jets on April 5.

They need all of the 4 point games they can get down the stretch. I don’t think they have a chance anymore. But I’m willing to drink the koolaid.

Really hoping to see Huberdeau and Kadri separated. I still don't know why that combo can't figure it out. Huberdeau managed to make every schlub who drove the net a 25+ goal scorer in Florida....apparently not Kadri, an actual consistent goal scorer, though.

Each of these 4 point games have become do or die games. GFG!

The only way the Flames make the playoffs is if they go on an absolute heater. I’m pretty sure it’s not happening. They’ve only managed 3 straight wins this year. But if they could do it, they’d enter the playoffs scorching hot. And I honestly think this roster has massively underachieved. The number one key to the required scorching hot finish to the season will be great goaltending.
