...why can't every trade deadline be like this? This is awesome.
It's almost as if all of the GMs all of a sudden realized "it's stupid to fall in love with our own players" and are willing to aggressively make changes.

This is where my thoughts went to as well.
Toronto now has a '23 1st (BOS) and a '24 1st (TOR) and...Knies? Does that fulfill Arizona's ask?
Toronto now has the cap space for Chychrun's full hit...

Also this is why selling doesn't have to be a rebuild.
Caps traded Orlov for that 1st, then flipped it for Sandin.
Still looking to be competitive but got 9 years younger in the process. Tidy work by Washington.

Win win for both teams. Washington did very well though. They got immediately younger and better. What a year to do it right.

I think Sandin is quite a bit better than McCabe but if the Leafs can use this to upgrade their top 6 F (and you think they have to) they should come out better for this season.
But feels like a lot is on the line for them right now.
