LONG BATTLES: The Flames and Flyers have gone to overtime or a shootout five times in their last eight meetings. Four of those games ended in overtime, with the Flames winning all four and Philadelphia winning the lone shootout the clubs have played over that span.
IMPRESSIVE MILESTONE:#Tonight's tilt will be NHL game No. 400 for Flames winger Blake Coleman. The two-time Stanley Cup Champion started his NHL career in New Jersey and was a third-round pick of the Devils back in 2011.
This season certainly didn’t start the way he was hoping. Ruzicka was scratched for 10 of the first 11 dates on the calendar. On the lone night that his number was called, he skated a measly five-and-a-half minutes.
The 23-year-old Slovak — still the youngest dude on Calgary’s roster — scored a surprise promotion when Huberdeau was hobbled by a foot injury, plugged into his usual left-wing slot alongside Elias Lindholm and Tyler Toffoli.
BOTTOM LINE: The Philadelphia Flyers host the Calgary Flames after Owen Tippett scored two goals in the Flyers’ 5-4 shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens.
Philadelphia has gone 4-3-1 in home games and 7-6-3 overall. The Flyers have conceded 48 goals while scoring 41 for a -7 scoring differential.
Have to give Torts credit for keeping the Flyers competitive. Just looking at their lines they have no business being 7-7-3. Flyers will play hard but this is a game the Flames should win.

This is what Tort's does best. I almost would have been more surprised if this weren't the case.
But really, I do think Carter Hart should get a good chunk of the credit. His goals save above expected is 14.3 - the highest in the NHL.

Game is on SiriusXM on channel 924 for a computer and other electronics with the Flames feed and online in your vehicle. Channel 91 in your vehicle will have the Flyers feed.

For comparison, Jacob Markstrom is 52nd in the NHL at -2.14. Dan Vladar is 53rd at -2.19. That's less than ideal.
On the bright side, Jack Campbell is fourth worst in the NHL (66th) at -7.81 and Thatcher Demko is third worst (67th) at -8.51.

If you're going to bring Vladar into it you probably should look at GSAE/60. If Vladar has a -2.19 in 4 games and Markstrom -2.14 in 14 games they're really not the same animal.
Goalies with 4+ games (set to 4 to include Vladar) and Moneypuck (different model)
Konecny is out, and he's been their most dangerous player.
This SHOULD be a win, but it seems like we've played worse against our "weak" opponents.
