Generally I think Markstrom gets more blame than he deserves, but that 3-1 goal was laughable. That can't go in.

Made it a 1 goal game only to have a weak one get by Markstrom seconds later which took the the wind out of the sails for the team. Flames need to do a better job of getting bodies and pucks into high danger areas.

There's just something about this team. This feels like every 2nd Flames season where the goaltending isn't good and the team just can't put it together. They don't scare anyone with their offense and the goaltending is suspect. Kind of mediocre looking to me. I expect they will be the exact opposite next season as is the way.

Mangiapane needs to be better and Lewis and Lucic need to play a lot less.

There's going to be a lot of stomping and steaming ears over Markstrom tonight, and I'm not even going to bother defending him after this game.

However, I think Sutter's panicked restructuring of the lines after the loss to the Oilers did far more harm to the Flames' rhythm and confidence than any shaky goal given up by #25 this season.

An almost hearbreakingly baffling move that upset the boat.

He deserves this one. Calgary has full momentum to zero in 10 seconds.

I do feel for markstrom though.

Goalie is a lonely position.

What are the terms of Markstrom's no trade clauses?

The 10.5 million dollar man and the 6 million dollar goalie can show up any time.

Terrible goal but high danger chances were 14-4

This loss isn’t on Markstrom tonight - as the team wasn’t good enough from the coach on down - but man that goal is an absolute back breaker and just another example of what has plagued this team all season.

Lewis and Lucic leading the team in 5v5 ice time in the first 30 minutes is an issue too. Sutter needs to get his head on straight because he’s been overthinking things all season and his forward deployment has been a big issue all season too.

After a couple of great games Ruzicka seemed to lose trust again tonight and was lowest on the team in 5v5 ice.

Tough to develop when the coach is in love with Lewis, Lucic, and Ritchie.

The coaching and goaltending has been bad.

And really that’s uncharacteristic of both Sutter and Markstrom.

At this point I’d give the ball to Vladar and let him run with it for at least the next few games.

We don’t need all of Lewis, Lucic, and Ritchie in the lineup. Finally we took Rooney out and one of those three needs to follow. Why not give another kid a chance?

This team looks exactly like I thought they would when we lost Gaudreau, and were rumored to lose Chucky.
Hard working, gritty, but majorly lacking in skill.

I know that eventually Huberdeau will put things together, and Kadri has been pretty good, but I'm concerned that when it does come together, it's going to be too little too late.

I am starting to get the impression that Huberdeau is not all he is cracked up to be. He got an assist tonight, which I guess is something.

Good compete but tbay has elite pieces: number one dman in hedman. Segachev was a shrewd get for them. He is a strong player. They have a number one goalie who bested us. He’s on my fantasy team and has been getting lit up early to start the year but tonight against my team he shines. We got goalied. And the have 2 top forwards. Stammer and kucherov are so lethal on the pp. Sure would be nice to get a player like that just one.

Flames were ok just really sloppy and predictable on the pp. how many teams are gonna play high on rad and the right winger I’m the zone before this team try’s something new. Erik karlson retained would put this place over the top but until then I think we have a middling pp.

Another try hard but no finish award. All Swedish.

And yeah it was a softy for a third goal but they didn’t score a second so it’s moot. Unless u believe in the momentum being lost.

The disallowed goal hurts, But team has to be better against the cream of the crop if they have cup aspirations.
