He was holding his arm after getting tangled up. I guess Brett Ritchie to the top line it is.

We were one of the healthiest teams last season. This doesn't seem too serious. Tanev on the trip doesn't seem serious.
Flames aren't cursed. Injuries are part of sports. Flames have been pretty fortunate on that front over the last couple of seasons.

Are we sure he isn’t just having a really long poo?

The Flames have a 5-4-2 record after 11 games and can say they have the following mans games missed:
Kylington - 11
Tanev - 3
Hanifin - 1
Stone - 1
Now add Huberdeau to the list you could say this team has face some adversity now.
Oiler are 7 - 6
Man games missed:
Yamamoto - 1
Foegele - 1
Ryan - 1
Rather be losing because of injuries then your team just sucking

I really hope they use this as an actual chance to give Pelletier or Phillips a game on Thursday night.

Phillips has eight goals in nine games to start the year — I think he's the natural choice

I've always thought that some minor injuries early can be a blessing. Phillips is tearing up the AHL. He should get a crack now.
Injuries to Huberdeau aren't a positive but guys like Dube or Coleman or even better Lucic, Lewis types might get some guys the call. The Flames have been as healthy as you can get for years now, and it hurts the chances of seeing some of these guys

Would be tough, if they want to have an extra dman on the roster. They still have 12 forwards. If Tanev can go, that changes things.

Could we even call him up as Huberdeau is not on IR and is day-to-day?

Wonder if they might put Stone on LTIR for some cap relief
We'll see what happens at the Wranglers game tonight.

If it comes down to it, I could see Tanev going on retroactive IR

Last game of the road trip, you send one of the dmen down and call up a forward.
As long as no body gets hurt in warmup you're fine.

can we LTIR stone and bring up Phillips?
if edmonton can just decide Smith is LTIR qualified when he never got hurt then can't we

In theory yes… but LTIR has implications on two things:
1. The amount of games that Stone will have to miss. He will have to miss at least 10 games and 24 days.
2. The amount of cap space you will have for the trade deadline will be reduced significantly.
In our case, I’m pretty sure that Stone is expected back before the 10 games pass.
In addition, the way LTIR works, you want to be as close to the cap as possible when you place a player on LTIR. Before the call ups the Flames had about $1.3M in cap space, since it’s higher than Stone’s cap hit LTIR would’ve given the Flames exactly 0 additional cap space. Currently, we have $75k of cap space so placing Stone’s $750k on LTIR will allow us to exceed the cap by $675k while he is injured.

Not often an upper body injury involves the feet.
