Hey folks, I'm in town this weekend and looking for some recommendations on where to look for a good selection of hot sauces. Like most things in Victoria, our hot sauce collection is mid and basically relegated to what you can find in grocery stores. I've heard Pepper Palace at Cross Iron Mills has a good selection, but I'm mostly staying in the SE (Deer Run and Somerset) while I'm here.
Crossroads Farmers Market (1235 26 Ave SE) has a pretty decent hot sauce booth called Hungry Volcano. We go there a couple times a year to stock up. There used to be a place in Eau Claire mall that had a great selection of hot sauces, not sure if it's still there though.
Edit ^ Looks like it is!

The Latin market behind the staples at Chinook? Lots of Cholula, but also a rotating selection of stuff from other countries. YMMV (i like the Picamas from Guatemala, but of course it has the most junk in it...)

Seconding this. Good for the variety of weirder sauces and good if you want the good standard table sauces from the US for a decent price.

If you like Marie Sharp's (I do, it's delicious) you can buy the gallon jugs at that place in Eau Claire mentioned previously. That should tide you over for a bit. Some Safeway's have Valentina and Valentina black, which, to be honest, is all you really need in your life.

I think you will be so spoiled for choice, you should be asking about specific hot sauces and also investigating a flat rate box to send the first wave of selections back home. I think it's about $20-30. If you need packing materials, I'm sure a ton of CPers and strangers will easily be able to hook you up with the packing materials from their online purchases.
Not hot sauce and not really spicy... but if somehow you don't have Tajin in Victoria or it's hard to come by... you can probably click and collect at a bunch of Walmarts.

What is the name of the market? I think there's a Community Natural Foods and a Filipino grocery there?

Should you be the type of person who wants this kind of thing, you can buy litres of Valentina’s at Crossroads FYI if you weren’t aware already

Hungry Volcano has a storefront too in the North East, it used to be called "Some Like it Hot". On northwinds drive.
Go to the store and they will have everything you are looking for and things so hot you wish you never found them.

I know not many western folks are into legit Asian or non-mainstream foods but give Lao Gan Ma a shot, it's REALLY tasty. It's not super Spicy and is more mild, but the flavor is awesome. The video below walks through how each one tastes, along with their favorite one.
You'll find them at T&T in Calgary or similar Asian/Chinese grocers.
