Default How do you pronounce Kadri?

Every single game, people are posting in the GT's about Harnarayan Singh's pronunciation of Kadri. I am myself a minority and for me it would very weird for people to pronounce my last name the "real" way it should be versus the anglicized way so I'm happy with the angelized pronunciation.

Can we settle for once and for all if Singh's right on pronunciation or not? I think Nazem Kadri is of Lebanese descent and I'm not familiar with how it should be pronounced from an Arabic background. I think Singh is possibly using a more Punjabi pronunciation of it.

Any Lebanese/Arabic fans who can clear this up once and for all?

Here's the NHL pronunciation guide to clarify how the NHL expects the media should pronounce player names:

in arabic they don't use the k it's more adri instead of Kadri. K is silent

Unfortunately those guides are often not accurate
See Gio as an example. We know that’s wrong

I've been going by this pronounciation all along: https://www.google.com/search?q=naze...+pronunciation

Would like to know if that's correct or not.

Good catch. They have it as Chill instead of Shill.

Backlund's the one that always bugs me, when you see highlights from OOT and the announcer pronounces it like they're waiting for him to tear down the Berlin Wall or something.

The only pronunciation that matters is how Kadri wants it pronounced. Has anyone ever heard him pronounce his own last name before?

During the Finals last year, did they do the video where all the players introduce themselves and say who their favourite player was growing up?

2013: "Jaromir Jagr... My favourite player growing up was Jaromir Jagr."

I pronounce it like 'Cadre' because I just want to watch the world burn.

I blame Singh and his pronunciation of Kadri on the Flames losing streak.

At least he stopped saying fantabulous 5 times a game.

Only 4 times is not a significant improvement.
