Yeah I don’t think trading Hanifin right now to get a winger would be a wise idea. We’re already overstretched having Kylington out.

The team speed on defense takes a huge hit with Hanifin and Kylington both out.

Think we saw that off the rush against Buffalo yesterday.

Mackey, Stone, Andersson, and Zadorov all struggled with their gap control at the blueline IMO, and weren't getting much help from our forwards either.

Trading Hanifin is, and always has been, a STUPID idea.

Hanafin has been greatly underappreciated by some Flames fans. He's still only 25 and will probably get even better in the coming years.

Lindholm has been downright bad to start the year, and quite frankly doesn't look "right". I'm not sure if he's fighting through something or not, but he needs to turn it around. This was a theme in preseason as well - he's really contributing nothing at the moment.

it's really too bad he was the worst defencemen on the ice against the Oilers last year. that really skewed things.

He has a broken heart from his besties deciding to leave. He'll get over it.

Promoting Kadri to the top line is something worth considering, IMO. With less pressure on his shoulders, maybe Lindy can get his game back on track.

It's clearly and adjustment period for a center that lost two of the best wingers in the game that had developed a lot of chemistry together over few years. Huberdeau is also one of the best but he's still a different player and they need time to gel.

4 games in with new linemates. This takes time. Give them time.
We are also 3-1 so far this year.

Out of the 3 guys on that line Toffoli has looked the best. Not very impressed with Huberdeau yet. Other than the occasional fancy pass. I thought he would transition the puck more. Be more of a puck carrier. That is what that line is missing. That is not Lindholms game. This is why I think you need Kadri between those 2 guys.

I am fine with lines staying like this while we are winning but I do think this will work better once we try it:

Huberdeau - Kadri - Mang
Dube - Lindholm - Toffolli

The way Kadri and Mang play will create space for Huberdeau on zone entries and let him do his magic. I like the way Toffolli has been playing, better than last year imo, and I would not mind him swapping with Mang but I think the second line would be too small that way.

I do think Lindholm got way too used to playing with Johnny who is one the best zone entry forwards and nobody on the first line has been the go to person for zone entries. So I understand Sutter giving them time to figure it out as the second line has been phenomenal.
