Too bad for Valimaki. Looked every bit of a future #1 and then totally derailed by injuries. Promising numbers in the Finnish league but ever since he’s been back in NA it’s just been underwhelming performances. A player of his skillset and talent level through his first couple post draft seasons should have been a core piece. Bad luck all around.

He needs change of scenery for sure, and they can afford to run with him without caring about winning.

I hope Zohorna is collecting air miles. Have fun in Wilkes-Barre, hope you didn't spend too much time looking for an apartment in Calgary.

Former 1st round pick. 6'2'' RW right shot Czech winger. Decent numbers in the AHL

Zohorna probably heads back to Pittsburgh. He can be picked up and placed directly in the AHL I think, if Pens claim him.
Not sure if Valimaki gets picked at that cap hit, but he does have draft pedigree. Meloche makes the squad.
