Ball and Hrudey are calling regional games again this year
The best play by play duo in the league are back with Ryan Leslie.

Very good news. Definitely two of the best that SN has to offer for me. People will still cry though, every time any credit is given to another team during a broadcast, because god forbid...

I would say trio because Ryan’s awesome too
He’s so good with interviews because his manner puts guests at ease and are more genuine with their answers unlike some of his counterparts up north

It says all, but is Hrudey really committing to all? He seems to take games off that are close to his Saturday night obligations.
I get it and he deserves it. He's over 60 and I am sure that the travel and missed family life are big factors. I am just questioning the wording.

Hrudey is awful actually, this is disappointing to me. I’m going to have to get a subscription and hope that visitors feed isn’t blacked out.

I still like Hrudey a lot. He has his quirks when giving so much praise to opposing teams, but that's fine. Ball and Leslie are both fantastic. We are spolied.

Hrudey is too disruptive as a colour guy and it makes Ball or whoever he’s working with worse. Hrudey rambles on way too much and interferes with the PBP guy.

We are blessed with one of the best local PBP teams in the NHL.

I also can’t unsee Ryan Leslie eating that sandwich that time. I was hoping for a new broadcast team.

Sure, that's understandable, he's not your cup of tea. But who would you suggest has the chops to replace him?
If I had to pick someone I think Rhett Warrener or Matt Stajan could do a great job. I'm a fan of ex-players doing colour.

I love them as a duo. I kind of get this vibe where it is a combo of elite play by play, but it feels like you are having a beer with them.

Yeah, I was wondering about that because I'm sure in the past they've said Hrudey and Campbell-Pascall would split the duties.
Yup, this was last year's release...

Maybe Hrudey won't be on the HNIC panel anymore.

I don’t want to sound to critical but I just won’t watch SN if I can help it. I watched a lot of games last year from opposing teams streams and would switch back for a period to SN but always went back to the other team’s feed.

Great news, I personally love the side-tracks and jokes from these two. I remember during a game, it was Kelly's granddaughter's birthday (I think) and he was talking about her for about a minute after the puck had been dropped. I believe the quote was "Man I sure love that kid". Don't know why but it cracked me up. Reminds you the game isn't business all the time.

Just curious, is that all because of Hrudey? Because Ball is one of the very best PBP guys in the NHL.

I’m just not a fan of Kelly’s, I just don’t think he articulates well and it interferes with the PBP. There’s large portions of the game that don’t get called because of it. I used to put up with it but just won’t anymore. I’ll leave it at that and people can like what they want, SN still thinks he’s okay so that says something still.
