Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2022 - Round 25
Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!
As per usual ...
1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to rookie camp range
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

Voted for Boltzmann, given where he was drafted.

There’s still hope for Tuulola right?

I'm campaigning for Parker Bell. Our tagline - 'at least he's young'. Back-up tag line - 'He's 6'4"'

Doesn't it get kind of random at this point? Probably just throw them in a bucket of "who knows"

At this point, outside of Tuulola from a few years back at the Rookie tournaments, I haven't really seen any of these guys play. So I'm clueless.
But Boltmann intrigues me.
0 points in 19 games in his 18 year old NCAA season.
13 points in 40 games in his 2nd NCAA season.
Eyeballing the Notre Dame roster, 4 of the defenceman ahead of him on the depth chart are graduating. Should be a huge oppurtunity to take a leading defensive role on that team.

Yes, I went with Boltmann just because of the large improvement over the previous year. And as a third round pick, I'm hoping they made the pick for a reason.

Hey, am I missing something? Where did Josh Nodler end up? I don't see him on the list of players who've already been picked and I don't see him on the poll.

On but also off topic... is it true that if Matthew Phillips doesn't play like 75ish NHL games this season he becomes a UFA?

Bingo removed him yesterday as he thought he wasn’t signed by Calgary but I think he got mixed up with Mattson
I think he was meant to be Readded but was forgotten, but I doubt he was gonna be picked this round anyways

Probably not, although, Boltmann is in the lead right now and I would put Nodler ahead of Boltmann. That's why I noticed he was missing.
Although, I wouldn't vote for either of them yet.

He needs to have a total of 80 NHL games played or he will become a Group 6 Free Agent next year. He currently has 1.
He'll need to play 79 NHL games this season to remain an RFA (I believe playoff games count but games missed due to injury do not).

getbak is correct. I think it's very likely this is Phillips' last year in the org.
Also, we're starting our own prospect rankings over at FlamesNation today... #20 is Ben Jones. https://flamesnation.ca/2022/08/17/2...-20-ben-jones/
Chechelev, Ciona, Feuk, Koumontzis, Lerby, Littler, Mattson, Nodler, and Tuulola did not receive any votes from our panelists. Bell, Boltmann, Gilbert, Huckins, Jordan, Klapka, and Whynot did, but didn't crack the Top 20.

A 6'8" right shot RW is an intriguing option. I'm looking forward to seeing the Klapka Klappa.
