Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2022 - Round 13
Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!
As per usual ...
1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to rookie camp range
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

I get that Kuznetsov has size and pedigree, but I have never heard any indications that he stands out in any positive manner. Even defensive defensemen need to dominate in order to make the NHL.
I would have him way lower to be honest.

Nikolaev again, like his upside and excited to see how he does at the pro level.

I get he's a goalie and voodoo, but Sergeyev was the best goalie in the USHL last year. He's got my vote.

I have a lot of concerns about Kuznetsov, but this is where you start picking guys purely for their tools. Kuznetsov, Stromgren, Pospisil, Ronni all in this tier.

For me it is Ronni, followed by Pospisil, Duehr, Sergeev, Kuznetsov, Stromgren, Pettersen.
After that I am just guessing...

Any NCAA fans have much to say about Jake Boltmann? It is difficult to rank stay at home type D men on their points alone.

We’re at the point where the Flames 2023 1st is our best prospect left. Our farm depth isn’t great.

He was named to the Memorial Cup All-Star team in June. Sure, that's only 4 games and only 4 teams, but he did enough to stand out.
Also, he's hard to gauge because he played in the NCAA as a 17 year-old, turning 18 very late in the season. There are some players who don't play their first game in the NCAA until they are 19 or 20.

OK, fair enough. Wasn't aware of the Memorial Cup All-Star team.

Are people expecting the team to have 10-15 blue chip prospects? After the top 5 or so, I don't have high expectations, but there are some intriguing names that could turn out to be players.

Kuznetsov once again. Not sure what direction to go in next. Tempted to throw my vote Pettersen’s way

Pospisil, Sergeev and Nikolaev should start getting some consideration right about now.

Klapka is 21, but it takes longer to figure out how to maneuver your own body when you're that big. This is is break out year. Starts in the AHL, finishes in the NHL. Hot take, bold prediction, whichever you want, but book it.

Works for me. I want a "Klap, Klap, Klap" chant going in the dome.

I’ve maybe watched 3 Heat games in full, but in each of them I see Emilio Peterson and the lack of buzz around him makes me wonder if I’m seeing the best games of the kids life. He always impresses.
