Default Flames X2 line-up
Down goes Brown had an interesting activity, where he looked at which teams could ice the best team with a line-up of players who had two tours of duty with a team. Meaning, they played for the team, played somewhere else in the NHL, then came back. Players who were injured, including retired and then came back, don't count. I also don't think players that went to Europe and came back don't count.

His line-up for the Flames was
Cammy-Wiemer-Tanguay
Housley-Konroyd
Vernon

He missed a couple of notable names: Jokinen and Conroy, either of whom should be there instead of Wiemer.
But i wanted to try and build this out more.

Here's what I've got so far (I'm putting Conroy on the 2nd to re-unite him and McAmmond). I've got a full blueline, but missing some forwards and a back-up.


Cammalleri-Jokinen-Tanguay
Wilson-Conroy-McAmmond
XXX-Wiemer-Prust
XXX-Begin-XXX

Housely-Leopold
Konroyd-Guy
Hulse-Sheehy

Noodles! Jamie McLennan as backup (played in Calgary 2002-2004 and returned in 2006-2007).

We just need 1 more forward. I totally forgot (and frankly can't remember) that Lundmark had 2 stints here.
Noodles was a glaring omission.

I wonder if Stone would count as he was bought out and then re-signed. He is better than a couple of those D.

If you go more liberal you could also add:
- Robert Reichel (went to Europe, came back)
- Gio (went to Europe, came back)
- Roberts (retired, came back)
- Chris Lindberg (claimed in expansion draft by Sens, immediately re-acquired by the Flames)

But I don't think any of those should be included.

Also the head coach is clearly Darryl

Well .. what about Mark Giordano? He left and came back ... albeit without playing for a different NHL club.

(Also, what about Jim Peplinski and Pavel Torgaev?)

Same things. No NHL teams in between their stints.
Roger Johansson also went back and forth between Europe and the Flames like 3 times. I would also not count him.

Also from scanning Wikipedia, these are players with multiple stints on the team, not sure if they went to Europe or player for another NHL team in between:
Andrei Trefilov (G)
Jason Botterill (LW)
Marc Bureau (C)
Rich Chernomaz (RW)
Bruce Eakin (F)
Roger Johansson (D) - Played 150 games
Rick Lessard (D)

Another defenceman could be Jamie Allison.

The rest didn't play for other NHL teams in between stints.

Good catches on those two though. That gives us 12 forwards to ice.
