Flames Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2022 - Round 1

Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!

As per usual ...

1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to rookie camp range
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

Hmmm, should be a close race between Coronato/Wolf/Pelletier I'm thinking?

Pelletier edged out Wolf for me. I think their performance in the AHL puts them a step ahead of Coronato.

Coronato but he’s not signing with the Flames so maybe he should be lower.

Pelletier for me. I think Coronato has a higher ceiling, but Pelletier's season in the AHL was first class as a rookie. He could have a nice impact on the Flames roster this season.

I went Coronato but gave heavy consideration to Wolf based on his AHL.
I agree that the top 3 are a virtual toss up. I wouldn't disagree with any of the trio being ranked #1.

Voted for Pelletier. Hits the sweet spot of upside/proximity to the NHL/probability.

Close between him and Wolf but goalies are voodoo.

went with Coronato due to upside, but very excited about Pelletier and Wolf too. Could make arguments for either one of them.

Voted Pelletier.

Top 3 are locks (just depends on the order) as others have said. Then it will get interesting.

Me 2. It's actually pretty cool that we have 3 guys that you could pick as the number 1 prospect.

I picked Pelletier because he produced in the AHL and is probably the safest bet to have a long NHL career. Wolf is right behind him and I feel we need to see a little more of Coronato.

Pelletier vs Coronato. Pelletier has a higher floor at this moment IMO, even though Coronato has a higher ceiling. His showing in the AHL is a factor in me going for him in the first round. Those two, along with Wolf should be the top 3. I still think goalies are a bit unpredictable, hence will vote for Wolf third (albeit looks like he might end up being first)

Wolf hands down. But in true Flames fashion, he'll probably flame out at the NHL level, Coronato will refuse to sign, and Pelletier will request a trade to MTL.

Goalies = voodoo and Pelletier over Coronato because I wasn't as impressed with Coronato's performance in the scrimmage as some of the other, more knowledgeable viewers were.

Wolf or Pelletier for me. First thought was that with his size, Wolf needs to prove himself versus NHL shooters, but then realized the same applies to Pelletier, so voted Wolf. With that in mind, pretty clear top three and a pretty clear order.
