Montgomery's world record wiped from books

Tim Montgomery has been suspended for 2 years for doping retroactive to June 6, 2005. in addition all his results and prize money since March 2001 have been nullified including his since surpassed world record of 9.79 in the 100 metre. He's the boyfriend of Marion jones who is also under investigation.

Also two time olympic relay medallist Chryste Gaines was suspended for two years and results nullified from nov. 30 2003.

It's interesting that they will both be reinstated by the next Olympics.

Doping in the Olympic sports seems to be really out of control. I think they need harsher penalties, because people just don't seem to fear getting caught.

Well, it's a criminal offence in Italy punishable by up to a year in jail. That should make the Winter Olympics interesting...
