If you have a membership, Costco has good frame prices.

Ya, bought my first set from Costco, found out what I liked, what sizing worked etc. The next time I bought online becuase I wanted lightweight titanium for cheap. I found the same measurements and ordered them. No problems with them at all. Bought them from http://www.framesdirect.com/

My wife and kids go to Crowfoot Vision. They don't pressure you to buy expensive frames and when you need to get a new perscription they even ask if you want to keep your old frames. This type of behaviour is unheard of at my convienient downtown eye doctor.
I believe Hesla on this board is an optometrist

If you're not hung up with having a brand name on the arm, I've never had an issue with these guys.

I've tried frames on in lensecrafters, written the model/size down and then bought online for a fraction of the cost.

I've used Optiks International because I like the 2 for 1. Not necessarily the cheapest, however just like Northendzone, benefits cover it anyways for me.

Thread semi hijack...
But my wife has a pair of glasses that broke. The lenses are still ok but frames needed for sure. Can I bring the pieces of the glasses somewhere and get the lenses re-slotted into new frames or does she need to get a completely new set of lens/frames?

I bought from our very own Hes and fyi Southcentre. I used to buy Costco all the time, but to me there is a noticeable quality difference. The Costco lenses got some kind of weird film on them (or something?) and were never quite the same. So while these ones from Hes were more expensive they seem a lot nicer in general as well.

some will, depending on the frame shape and size.

Go online and buy another set of the old frame and pop them in yourself. Assuming they're not discontinued.

There's four places. There's the Glasses Hut, that's on third.
There's Lenses-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Eyes-There.
That's on third. Specs Low, Sweet Bi-focal... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the Glasses complex on third.
