nice asset management by the Canes who signed this guy for free a year ago.

Although not the greatest human being.

Canes took the PR hit of signing him and now recoup the rewards while the Flyers hope everyone forgets that he's an idiot.

No doubt. They got a good year of production and a lot of quality picks.

Wow, that's a nice return for the pending RFA. Carolina spent $1M and not only picked up all these draft picks, but he was a good player for them last year (10G, 51 points).

With this signing, the Flyers only have $118,560 in cap space.

I think they’re going to move Ellis.

Interesting. Do they have any big contracts they could get rid off if they want to sign Johnny to $10M+?

Ellis was hurt for them all last year, not even giving a guy a chance.

Do we see any way they have any room to even sign Gaudreau to a 10 million contract

I'm sure the fan base in Philly will go easy on DeAngelo when he has a bad game, and he will be very gracious for their patience.

JVR and his 7 million cap hit is the one they would move to chase down a certain UFA forward.

So many dumpster fire teams this off season. I wonder if Flames could trade some scoring to Flyers for some D help? Provorov?

How will the Flyers dump cap to take a run at Johnny?

Konecny gone? Provorov? Pay more futures to dump JVR?

They will need to do multiple things to make room for $11M Johnny

Maybe, but not sure how. The guy has a significant core injury and hasn't skated in ages. No end in sight, super long pricey contract, etc. Not sure what team wants that (cap floor maybe?).

Wasn't he a MAGA guy? Might be hard for them to hide his idiocy when his contract will cover midterms and a presidential campaign. Certainly will be popcorn-worthy for everyone that's not Philly.

Hate this for the Flyers. Why get close to a player who has been toxic very very recently.
