It's a topic we talk about in pretty much all three politics threads - MAGA, Pierre Poilievre's CPC, Danielle Smith's UCP. It's no coincidence these parties are all influenced by Stephen Harper's IDU, and more importantly that they are corrupt entities funded by either the immensely wealthy, who use bribery and their ownership of the vast majority of media (whether social or traditional) or malicious foreign state actors such as Russia and USA who would benefit from the weakening of our democratic institutions, to create narratives that consist total blatant disinformation, in all sorts of propaganda. That was a terrible run on sentence but I don't care. Point is, whether it's corporate interests or psyops, "facts" are no longer the source of truth that the typical person is exposed to.
I'm making this thread because this problem deserves its own thread outside of the scope of any singular type of politics. Politics are boring when they're based on facts. We need to return to a time when politics were boring.
