WW2/Vietnam Patch ID Help - Calgarypuck Forums - The Unofficial Calgary Flames Fan Community

Hello, CP Hivemind.

I have a friend who works at a military museum, and they just had a big batch of old WW2/Vietnam era patches come in. They have been able to ID all of them except for one. I've tried my googlefu, and the only thing I can come up with is a translation of the text, though Google didn't mention which language it translated it FROM. It claims the top text is "Airborne" and the bottom is "Flying Tigers"

Any thoughts/help in ID'ing this patch would be appreciated!

Edit: The language may be Amharic

Are you sure about the top part saying Airborne?

Because the Unit that was linked to above is a volunteer Airforce unit and the unit patch was a lot different.

I ran it through google translate after using an OCR app to pull the text and it said Airborne and Leopard. I can't find any units in WW2 or Vietnam that matches.

I don't post on Reddit myself, but another friend of his has claimed to have taken care of that, posting on a military one. No luck so far, though.
