I hope we get to see a bit of Carpenter in last three games. Not sure what to think of the guy.

Is Mangiapane-Backlund-Toffoli really working? Their xGF% has been steadily dropping since they were first put together.

I wonder that too.
Honestly I think the culprit is Tyler Toffoli to be honest.
Coleman fixing any line he's on, and Toffoli seems to sink any line he's on. Just doesn't have the foot speed to play Sutter's system in my mind.
Looking at Toffoli's career though he's always been a positive relative xGF% player.
So I don't get it.

Toffoli started hot after he was traded, but has cooled off a bit. Seems to line up with Mangiapane 1-goal in 23 game cold streak too.
I think Coleman might have been a better fit there, although it pushes Toffoli down the depth chart, but having Toffoli as a legitimate scoring threat on the 3rd line is a good thing, especially with Dube heating up.
I also like Toffoli on PP1 instead of Mangiapane. He's got a bit more playmaking ability whereas Mangiapane is being utilized as a sniper on PP1. I don't know if the advanced stats back this up, but Toffoli's PP zone entries look much better than Mangiapane's (based on an eye test from the last 3 to 4 games). For some reason, Mangiapane handles the puck like a hand grenade on the PP and we usually lose possession...
But I get why he's on the PP, because he's a hard working puck hound that should be able to force turnovers along the boards... But it's hard to engage in board-play if he's in the slot for a pass to snipe the puck or bang in a rebound.
