Yeah, this has to be a salary dump. Frees up room for Martinez, and maybe Lehner on LTIR plus this would = Stone coming back. But one more 5 million dollar dump is needed to get Stone and Martinez back in the lineup.

I hope Verbeek made it worth his while to do Vegas a favor. Granted Dadonov had been one of their best forwards the past couple games.

Eichel played in their last game.

In order to pull a Tampa you need to be good enough to still get to the playoffs without 15 million or more in your lineup. Vegas is not that good.

So with this and putting Lehner on LTIR - if they send someone down - would they have enough space to bring back Stone? Lehner wouldn't be able to come back though (or they'd need get someone else 'hurt').

This would give them space to bring back Martinez though.

The league is probably trying to buy Vegas as much time as they need to sort it out. Look for it to be officially approved game 1 of the playoffs.

I assume they got some kind of return here. Why else would they send the guy to a team that will be decent in the next while in the same division as they are for cap savings?

Just fire him to Buffalo or Arizona (yes - same division but non-serious team)
