How the refs only gave him a double minor is beyond me. Glad he got a multiple game suspension.

Glad to see the suspension numbers going up. NHL needs to seriously crack down on BS intent to injure stuff. Surprised Malkin hasn't been suspended more in his career.
I was worried they’d go light on him with a game or two. Good to see him getting 4 games. Dangerous cross check for sure, and hopefully this and the Matthews suspension sets a precedent.
Slashed him just before hitting him in the mouth as well. Malkin has always had an unpleasant side but was always given a lot of rope by the league. Can't ignore all the blood this time though.

I was surprised to learn this is only Malkin's second suspension. Seems like he makes the news every once in a while with some dumb play like this. I'm probably confusing him with someone else.

Wideman only got 20 for putting a ref into retirement
Technically-speaking, Wideman was ultimately assessed a 10 game suspension for that even though he served 20 games due to the appeal to a neutral arbitration (reducing the suspension to 10-games) that was later upheld in court.
