Good to see Ritchie get a chance over Lewis.

Lewis - Carpenter - Ritchie would be ideal if they want to change things up.

Loooove Sutter for this.

Time for 23 to watch from the box. Lucic has been just as bad, if not moreso, but total on-ice effectiveness aside, at least he hits and gets the crowd going.

Monahan is just... bleh.

Wow, thought they would try Monahan on the wing before scratching him. Maybe a few games off will help him rest up and heal any nagging injuries before getting another shot. I wonder if they rotate Monahan and Lewis back in for the second half of the back to back?

If true this should surprise no one.

Hopefully Vladar gets the start Friday and a fresh Marky for Saturday.

Lewis should be out for sure, but I don't agree with scratching Monahan. He's been good in his time away from Lewis.

Still think Lucic and Lewis are doing more to drag Monahan down than the other way around but not undeserved based on Monahan’s play. He clearly isn’t 100% post many injuries and doesn’t seem to be progressing towards 100% either.

Kind of sad it has come to this for Monahan but it's the right time to start sending messages with the playoffs looming. He needs to be better. That said I would scratch Lucic before Monahan. His game has fallen off the map in 2022.

Wonder if one or both will draw back in against Edmonton the next night, I bet we see Monahan back on Saturday. One game, send a message, give him some rest and then back in.

You could argue not worthy of the scratch (I suppose). But good?

Lucic and Monahan should both sit. Lucic has slowed and Monahan just doesn't have a fit on the team. I think Carpenter's PK time plays more of a factor here than Monahan's lack of production.

Yeah, the Flames have been pretty great in a big sample with Monahan on the ice away from Lewis. Generating 55% of the scoring chances with Monahan/no Lewis compared to just 42% with Monahan/Lewis.

Monahan has not been good. This is from someone who owns a Monahan jersey that has collected dust since 2019...

We have a back-to-back coming up. I’d like to see them all get into the lineup with fresh legs, but I guess we’ll see…

I purchased my Monahan t-shirt during my first trip to Calgary in April 2019. I donated it the Summer of 2020 after the Dallas series because, as ridiculous as it sounds, felt I may have jinxed him because of his decline after the series with the Avalanche (aside from his game 2 goal).

In my limited eye test over the last couple of games, i don't really have a problem with Monahan. To me, his struggles are confidence issues of being a former 30 goal top line centre now assigned to 4th line duty. Not to mention playing with at least 1 boat anchor.

Lucic, to me aside from being scary to look at, has been aweful. Early in the season he was playing so well. Skating well, great exit passes, using his size and skill set well. Now it seems he's always turning it over or indirectly responsible for the turnover. He also seems to be skating in sand. I don't know if he's conserving himself for the playoffs, but to me he has been bad.

Lewis just is what he is. What you see is what you get. Plays die on his stick, but I don't see many issues with his play.

To me after a few games Jarkrok hasn't really looked like a centre. Hopefully he adjusts a bit better, but if I had it my way i'd move Monahan up and move Jarkrok to the wing.

Turning over the puck 2 feet from the blueline in a game up 2-0 really pissed Sutter off IMO
