Hopefully it’s not serious and just a bump, but we saw what it did to the Flames system with the Tanev pairing being under water despite the level of opposition.

Really don’t want to see that pairing in Denver tonight.

Huh...i thought Stone was outstanding last night considering the circumstances.

I did notice a couple instances where the puck was rimmed around to him in the D zone and he had trouble collecting it because he was on his back hand, but beyond that it was a yeomans effort from a guy who hasnt played a complete seasons worth of games in the last 3.5 seasons and hadnt been against live bullets for 3 months.

Likely that Tanev needs a bit to get used to a completely different type of partner as well.

18 minutes all at ES, 6 hits, 3 blocked shots, 1 assist...in his first game in 90 days?

Not sure there is a whole lot to criticize with that.

Honestly this is a trap game with the Wings sandwiched around measuring stick games against Tampa and Colorado. The Flames beat the Wings 9 out of 10 times with how consistent they have been.

But you have to play the games.
Exactly right. It's easy to say they should beat this team, but good teams lose to bad teams all the time because it's human nature to be more focused on the big games.

But this team is as mentally tough as any Flames edition since 2004. And it's no coincidence what the connection is between those teams.

It's been really impressive to watch, all season long.

They got stuck at the beginning of the third more than other pairings, but they only gave up one high danger chance again.

That's bend but not break.

But if you're going to pick a struggling player or duo, their numbers suggest they spent some time in their own zone.

Doesn't change the fact the guy is a pro.

I was watching him a bit last night, and I think Zadorov is definitely pretty reckless with his stick. There was one point in the third period there where he was at his own blue line as the puck was being moved out, and he was holding his stick over his head. It left me thinking, "what the hell are you doing?"
