Default Flames 6 Ducks 2

Game Takes: Flames 6 Ducks 2

- Lindholm with two goals, three points
- Markstrom solid
- Flames wobble but find their game and run it up again

Sorry for the delay, wrote it this morning so I could watch the women's game.

Great write-up.

Totally agree that they had their B game (they have to be tired), but still not only found a way to win, but won going away - that says a lot about this team.

The PK went 5 for 5 against one of the top PPs, and has has established itself as elite, sitting 3rd in the league behind CAR and PIT.

Andersson maybe had his best game of his young career - he was dominant last night. As you said, 11 points in his last 13 games, but it's not just the points, he has been dominant defensively of late. He is making it look easy right now.

Andersson had such a hiccup last season, it had pretty much all of us wondering if he was going to be more of a 3-5 guy than a 1-3 guy.

Nevermind.

Shows how non linear development is in hockey players.

Valimaki looks ready to dominate in 2019 playoff games, gets hurt, and is still in the AHL.

Dube looks dangerous in the bubble in Edmonton against Winnipeg and Dallas but hasn't taken that next step since.

Andersson with a step back last year, and now a huge step forward this year.

I always figure there should be a way to include short handed goals in the special teams stats. Calgary was 2-5 and the Ducks 0-5, but Calgary also got scored on.

Great write up as always. You might want to look at the shot count for the Flames (403 seems a little high).

To me we were missing that clear cut #1 Dman and effective 3rd line scoring on this team to make it a true contender. I had hopes Monahan would come through, and with the addition of Toffoli it seems to be happening but not just with him. Dube looks like different player out there.

I also didn't think Andersson or Kylington were capable of being that #1 dman we needed, but man oh man is it ever nice to see it happening with Rasmus. No need to mortgage the future for Chychrun or Klingberg when the answer is unfolding right in front of us.

The only other missing piece I could think of is 4th line role players.....and along comes Adam Ruzicka. Even THAT line is getting looks and putting up points.

This team is legit. Literally everything a cup winner needs and I can't WAIT for playoffs.

A little high, maybe, but close. At least it's in the right area code.
