If the Russians can't take Ukraine, they'll take the Beijing National Indoor Stadium.

Honestly I kind of just wish they would send the World Junior team / Junior level players instead of this mismash of former / never NHLers.
Feel like teams should have had choice to release AHL players on NHL deals if they wanted to as well.

I'm not sure how a guy like Dubnyk isn't on the team meanwhile the goalies are Levi and who's who in the Canada zoo.

so many random ex-flames on this team that I momentarily confused Mark Barberio with Mark Cundari

may or may not have been more fun to watch I suppose but there is a reason the Canadian University teams often beat the NHL prospects...these guys give them a better chance of winning - and frankly, maybe its a sweeter story seeing these ragtags (on equal footing with most of the rest of the countries I guess)

Well no matter if it’s COVID or anti-China you aren’t getting junior teams to release players, just like the NHL made the same decision. These guys are all basically Euro team players, no?

What's with the ridiculous font, and I totally thought Eric Staal was still under contract somewhere.
Lol Corban Knight and Ben Street.
At least it will be easier to cheer for them now than when the roster could've potentially been littered with Oiler and Leaf trash.

He specifically signed a PTO this month with the Iowa Wild of the AHL to get in some practice for the Olympics.

many of these players are from the last Spengler Cup team that won that tournament
Corban Knight also happens to be the highest scoring Canadian in the KHL; currently 3rd in league scoring.
Without NHLers or even AHLers on NHL contracts, this is what's left

Agreed. Moderately talented men in Euro leagues would destroy a team of super talented Canadian teenagers

Good for him. I hope he takes full advantage of the opportunity to play. I bet many NHLers are envious.

I was half expecting to see The Lumineers on the list.
