Default Panthers 6 Flames 2

One of those nights where the puck goes in for the other team but doesn't go in for you. It happens.

Flames are still one of the best teams in the NHL despite this loss, but the forward depth clearly needs big improvements.

- Markstrom had a very rough night
- Special teams sucked
- Lindholm couldn't receive a pass cleanly to save his life

Learn from this one and move on.

Rough one tonight. Need some upgrades to the forward group.

Get 'em back at the Dome.

Lost to a really good team. Didn’t have great goaltending or defense. Nothing to be overly concerned about.

Moving on.

The PBP guy said "The best team in the NHL on the road lost to the best team in the NHL at home."

Some you win, some you don't. Ah, well. Regroup and move on.

I would like them to replace Pitlick in the next game.

2.5 good Flames tonight. Pretty disappointed with Lucic and Mangiapane actually - for all the complaints about the usual whipping boys, I thought those two guys were just absent.

Have to absolutely tip your cap to the Panthers. They have a fast, deep team. Forecheck well, transition well.

More of the Coleman from this game for the rest of the season please and thanks.

That Lomberg goal at the end of the second was unfortunate, and seemed to seal the Flames fate.

Panthers are better than us, if you will.

Not their night, it happens. On to the next one.

Though I am sure there will be some claiming this is proof they aren't a good team. You guys go nuts - you aren't getting many opportunities this year, need to take advantage when you can

Goalie usually isn't this bad.
PP usually isn't this bad.
PK worse than usual too.

So I don't think this was the Flames near their best, but they didn't do well in their first measuring stick test of three

Rebound in Tampa and you can talk about this one as a one off.

Panthers are a better team. Not that upset. Onward and upward. Go Flames.

I think the difference was Bobrovsky buckled down after the 2nd goal and Markstrom struggled. Need to clean up the net front presence as well.

I will never understand how Ritchie or Pitlick are better options than giving one of the kids from Stockton a shot. It can’t be worse but it could be better so why not give them a look?

Probably true

But also Panthers are better at Panthers hockey.

Flames played Panthers hockey, not Sutter road hockey.

They needed to dictate the style of game rather than make it a wide open track meet which is how the Panthers are comfortable playing at home.

They needed to be physical and muck it up. They didn't. The big d-pairing were sheepish. Can't have that.

Just got run over by a team with better depth. Team still needs one more proven forward that can score. Get that, and they could be dangerous.

Well, Mangi didn't score. Dang. I know Markstrom is good, of course he's good, look at his stats, but I have no confidence in him. Idk why. It's just not there. Monahan makes me sad. I keep waiting for him to step back up. Maybe he will yet. Better luck next game guys!
