Leafs waive Nick Ritchie
With the Flames reported interest during the summer I wonder if they revisit

Would love to flip Pitlick for Ritchie.
I think Nick Ritchie could easily find a role on Sutter’s team

Would love for the flames to pick him up, he won't make it to us though.

Can't hurt to claim him. He's in A.Nylander territory right now IMO though.
End of the day, Flames need to start tinkering with some pretty glaring holes in the bottom six. Pitlick culprit #1

He has this year and next at $2.5M
Don't claim him. Trade if you absolutely have to but don't claim him.

I wouldn’t mind it if he took Pitlick’s spot. Move Coleman back to his normal RW position
Possibilities:
N. Ritchie - Backlund - Coleman (Interesting, if Ritchie got his scoring touch back)
Lucic - Dube - N. Ritchie (Scary)
N. Ritchie - Monahan - B. Ritchie (Super Smash Ritchie Bros.)
Dunno if any of these options would be good, but would be intriguing to watch at least
Only thing I don’t like is the extra year left on his deal. Wish that was a 1-year contract.

Didn’t realize he had another year. Unless the Flames are convinced he is a solution on the third line then it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

How about no one claims him and then they make a Nick for Brett trade?
No name stitching needed for both teams!

If you combined the brothers you may end up with a full time bottom 6 NHL player.

picking him up would be a terrible idea, because of the contract - he'll clear
wait until he clears and then trade for him retained (or for equal contract), if you want him
having said that, he is not what this team needs. you only have so many cards to play, and this ain't the place to lay your last card down
