Would think more defencemen would learn to play with a rhs . Its not hard at a young age to shoot either way. I started out shooting left, then started shooting right at about 12 (more power and accuracy I found) . Then started playing goal and went back to shooting left.

Left/Right defensive pairings is an extremely overrated idea.

These guys are pros for a reason, they can take a pass on their backhand just as well as their forehand.

Stromgren hasn't shown close to enough. Would be surprised if muzy is left off the Russia roster though. Anyone think sergeevev could get a look?

Are we concerned about the fact that none of the recent 2nd/3rd round picks have many any teams?

Do 2nd rounders usually make team Sweden or Russia?

I know Dube was a 2nd rounder and played well for Canada. Wolf played for USA as a 7th rounder.

Is Sweden deep up front, and is Russia deep at the back end?

Kuznetsov played last year, so I don't know if that makes this better or worse- obviously he's had a bit of a strange player arc/trajectory (looks like none of the players in that Russia short list linked to above are playing in NA?)


its definitely a 19 yo tournament, but that's not to excuse Stomgren- I don't have much insight there

Apparently Russia did not take any players that are playing in North America, so no Sergeev.
