On the first day of the Democratic National Convention, the CBC used the opportunity to do nothing other than to bash George W. Bush.

Halton then sadly went on to explain that the audience won’t hear much Bush-bashing from the podium because John Kerry had asked them to tone it down in order not to turn off independent voters. This was not good news for the CBC so Halton had to come up with someone who disagreed with playing down of the attacks against George W. Bush at the convention

The entire convention segment was nothing other more than an opportunity to go after Bush. If viewers were hoping to learn anything about John Kerry or Democratic Party policies, they were sadly disappointed.
As per usual, the CBC apparently didn't report what went on but instead put their own opinion into the news. It's not like CBC has ever been accused of being independent, but this (IMO) just goes too far.

Yeah, from the CFP. There's a credible news source. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's extremely biased 'news sources' on either side of the political spectrum writing passionate diatribes out how other media outlets are infact nothing but party or special interest group mouthpieces.

Yes, the CBC reporter talked to delegates who heavily criticized Bush. It's a freaking Democratic Rally--the only way you're going to find any pro-Bush rhetoric in the building is if you brought in your own bi-partisan pundits, as most of the US networks did, but which the CBC could hardly justify.

I'm not claiming the CFP is credible. It just struck me as incredibly irresponsible to be making a story out of something that nobody else was talking about. I expect more out of a supposedly responsible journalistic company, which I'm sure most would agree the CBC is supposed to be.

Actually, the Japanese media was also decidedly anti-Bush. Most of their comments spoke to the service records of the two presidents and how many people around the world don't like Bush, and how Kerry dealt with that angle.

Facing facts, outside of the almost 49 percent of the people in the States that voted him into power, he doesn't have a massive fan club internationally. I expect media to pick up on this on play to their audience, as they always do.
