Preseason #5: Flames hunt the Kraken @ Kent, Washington. 8pm MT. No stream.
per Flames PR
No word on stream yet. May not get any lines/pairings until warm ups as the game group will not skate until then.
Looks like Francis is getting rewarded for his good showing in camp.
Will probably see lots of cuts after this game as AHL camps start opening up on Monday.

I’d say we’ll see a good amount of cuts after this game; looks like a last opportunity for players to see if they can make a case for one more look. Kirkland and Duehr have really shown great energy and pace on the 4th line and I’m happy to see them get rewarded for their dedicated play.

Dube needs to step up. Have been a little disappointed with his camp so far. Start earning that contract, kid!!

Really? I thought he was by far the best player in those first few games.

That’s a rough looking roster for the Flames, yikes. At least it gives a bunch of the kids one more chance to show….anything.

Some of these WHL buildings are a pain in the butt to set up a reliable stream in, FWIW.

Not in preseason with those guys
He’ll get to prove it when the season starts, hopefully with good linemates
You can’t prove nothing with scrubs

Awesome! Really hoping to see a big game again from Kylington and I love that Sutter didn’t gush over his play when asked by Eric Francis about it. No time for complacency or over confidence for the players who are fighting for full time spots on the big club and Kylington is the top of that list IMO.

Yikes that forward group. 3 bottom end NHLers and a couple of maybes?
Wonder if Darryl just staying home for this one.

Most of that team must be catching the bus to Stockton after the game.

Forward group is loaded with bubble players looking to make the roster. Hoping to see one or two step up.

Duehr has been excellent so far, looking forward to watching him.

I thought there used to be rules about a minimum number of actual NHL players that had to be dressed for NHL exhibition games. Did that rule go by the wayside?

I think you're right - a big chunk of of this group is probably going to keep right on going from Kent to Stockton.
We should get a good effort from them though

I think it was 8, and there are 8 NHLers in the lineup
Valimaki, Zadorov, Stone, Lucic, Lewis, Ritchie, Dube for sure, plus
Vladar, Kylington, and maybe Froese probably also qualify

Draft Pick
|
In preseason exhibition games, a team may dress a minimum of eight veterans in any game.
According to Section 15.4(a), a veteran is a player is any defensemen or forward who played 30 or more games in the previous season, a goaltender who was dressed in 50 or more games or played in 30 or more games in the previous season, a team’s first-round draft pick from the most recent year’s Entry Draft, or a player who has played in 100 or more games in the NHL in their career.
The roster qualifies
