Nice to see Duehr and Kirkland both rated low on the prospect scale still battling for jobs.

Francis to the AHL?

Sea Dogs must be annoyed with the Flames right now. Hosting the Memorial Cup and the Flames are turning Francis and Kuznetsov pro.

Heck of a first camp for Duehr. Hopefully they found a player there.

Zary and Kinvall hurt

Werner, Mackey, Froese and Kirkland likely on borrowed time right now. Probably Duehr also, to be honest.

That would leave one more Dman to be axed, except Gudbranson supposedly hurt his hand the other night.

If Gudbranson hurting his hand means we keep Kylington or Mackey in the lineup to start the season I’m happy. Hopefully Sutter still feels we need more mobility back there and the young guys prove they are reliable enough to stick (at the expense of big=good).

Thinking that they run with 8 D unless Gudbranson is hurt to start I just don’t see them waiving Stone or Kylington. They built some depth on D and will want to keep it.

If they can only carry 13 forwards, can Gawdin be sent down for now without waivers. I am thinking he’ll be on the team this year, just maybe not to start.

Duehr continues to surprise. The Flames needed one or two of those, so this is a positive. Can't wait to see what Wolf does in the AHL. Should be an interesting season with some good talent on the minor league squad.

Gawdin will probably make the team as the 13F with Pitlick starting the year on the IR

He's a big body and not that young, so he doesn't need to mature, just professional experience, who knows if he works hard he might become a Hathaway, but the Flames have most of the bottom six covered.

IDC about the whole big = good thing when it comes down to who earned a spot on D between Kylington and Gudbranson. Kylingtons owned this camp. And he should be running PP1 over Andersson too. He has a better skillset for it.

Duehr should make the team too. His size and speed has been a a very bright light in camp.

And I also think Vladar has totally locked down the #2 spot over Werner. Probably keeping werner up for one more pre season game.

Duehr turns 24 next month, so I’m hoping be actually starts on opening night for the Flames. He is “seasoned” enough at this point in a league that is getting younger and younger.

Froese, Gawdin and Kirkland are part of the Stockton leadership group. Veteran pros to guide the young 'uns.

Gawdin probably the closest to earning a spot, being a utility guy.

I think Anderson makes much better decisions with the puck than Kylington, including at the ozone blue line. I'd prefer Anderson run PP1.

Fully agree Kylington has earned a spot.

I think Duehr has a better chance for that spot, considering he is a RWer

We shall see. Gawdin capable of C/RW and that C experience may be the edge. More versatility?
